Symbols

Sometimes at work, I need to use symbols when I type and I find it so much easier to use keyboard shortcuts than to go through the Menu bar. I'd like to share some of the more commonly used and my favourite symbols with you. To use them, press Alt on your keyboard and don't let go until you key in the numbers beside the symbols shown below:

½ - 171 (half)

¼ - 172 (quarter)

Þ - 0222 (mouth with tongue)

º - 167 (degree)

☺ - 1 (smiley)

♥ - 3 (heart)

÷ - 246 (divide)

≥ - 242 (greater than or equal)

≤ - 243 (less than or equal)
